It is owned by Global and plays well-known pieces, film scores and shorter works, with relaxed presenters who explain the music without talking down to you. The best-known event of its year is the Classic FM Hall of Fame: listeners vote in January and the top 300 is counted down over Easter. In 2026 Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace reached number one, making him the first living composer to top the chart.

Classic FM broadcasts across the UK on FM between 99.9 and 101.9 MHz, plus DAB and the Global Player app. Stream it live on its station guide.
